Context
Most reminder apps feel transactional: a notification pops up, you send a quick message, and the moment is gone. Birthdays and special dates — which carry real emotional weight — get reduced to a checkbox. There was room for a reminder app that kept the speed of a utility tool but treated each date as something worth celebrating.
Solution
B-Day is a mobile app that reframes birthdays and special dates as meaningful, shareable moments. It uses a Chinese Zodiac–inspired calendar to blend cultural storytelling with a clean, minimalist interface. Core flows — view the calendar, check a date, send a greeting — stay fast and quiet, while zodiac elements, microinteractions, and shareable cards add emotion on top without adding friction. A modular component system supports the experience and keeps it ready to scale.
Business Goal
Position B-Day as a culturally-rich alternative to generic reminder apps, building emotional engagement that drives repeat use and organic sharing through zodiac-themed greeting cards.
User Goal
Remember the dates that matter and celebrate them in a way that feels personal — without the friction of cluttered calendars, scattered notes, or impersonal templates.
